The Greater Brazos Partnership (GBP) is a dynamic public-private initiative dedicated to driving economic growth and fostering investment in the Greater Brazos Region, a five-county region which encompasses Brazos, Burleson, Grimes, Robertson, and Washington Counties.

Through a strategic partnership with the City of Bryan, City of College Station, Brazos County, Texas A&M University, the Texas A&M University System, and Invest Greater Brazos, the GBP works to create a thriving business ecosystem, attract global investment, and shape the region’s future as a hub for innovation and opportunity.

The Greater Brazos region is located at the heart of the Texas Triangle, one of the nation’s fastest-growing economic corridors. This central location provides direct access to a vast market, a robust supply chain, and a pro-business environment, driving cost efficiencies and operational excellence for businesses across various sectors.

Opportunity Summary

The President & CEO will serve as the driving force behind the Greater Brazos Partnership. Reporting to the Board of Directors, the President & CEO oversees all operations, staff, and budgets while acting as the region’s chief spokesperson and lead negotiator on high-profile projects in our priority fields. The role demands a leader who can convert a shared vision into concrete results— securing and maintaining capital investment, cultivating durable relationships with municipal and county officials, Texas A&M leadership, and private-sector partners, and positioning Greater Brazos as a nationally recognized hub for innovation and opportunity.

Essential Functions

Project and Deal Leadership

  • Drive new lead generation of companies that align with the region’s culture, assets, and focus sectors.
  • Present opportunities to the cities and counties; serve as chief facilitator on incentive packages and project agreements.
  • Manage the full incentive-funding cycle, from structuring to final sign-off.
  • Guide preparation of incentive proposals and supporting materials.
  • Be flexible and adapt to prioritization of leads and the incentive party’s needs to fulfill them.
  • Evaluate third-party due-diligence reports and internal impact analyses.
  • Conduct Business Retention Efforts on a regular and continuous basis throughout the

Bryan/ College Station community.

Partnerships and Stakeholder Alignment

  • Strengthen key alliances by deepening day-to-day collaboration with municipal and county governments, Texas A&M University and The Texas A&M University System, and private-sector investors.
  • Maintain and grow relationships with funding partners. Identify opportunities to expand funding partner cohort, make appropriate partnership expansion recommendations to the Board, and engage accordingly.
  • Actively engage in the community to build trust and credibility as a local advocate. Develop a deep understanding of the region’s people, assets, and priorities to represent it with authenticity and insight.
  • Collaborate with the Invest Greater Brazos Chair to ensure programming consistently delivers high value to private-sector investors and reflects regional priorities and momentum.

Marketing and Communications

  • Advance a unified regional strategy by aligning and promoting the five-county marketing effort that simplifies site-selection and attracts large-scale investment.
  • Oversee all marketing collateral and website content.
  • Review and approve public-relations and educational materials.
  • Act as primary spokesperson who clearly communicates the organization’s mission, vision, goals, and value to media, community groups, and prospective partners.
  • Produce clear written communications for investors and public audiences.

Team Leadership and Development

  • Build, mentor, and inspire a high-impact staff of professionals aligned with organizational goals.
  • Work with the team members to set expectations and metrics. Hold staff accountable to documented benchmarks.
  • Instill and uphold high standards of professionalism and quality across all external communications, project materials, and internal operations. Set clear expectations for staff conduct and work product, and address performance issues promptly and constructively.

Finance, Governance and Professional Standards

  • Direct the annual budget—prepare, review, secure Board approval, and make presentations to funding partners as needed.
  • Work with the Finance Committee, third party accounting firm, and independent auditors to maintain fiscal discipline within budget and provide monthly financial statements to the Board of Directors.
  • Stay current on industry best practices, publications, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Address inquiries and concerns from clients, regulators, and the business community.

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economic Development, Economics, Management, Geography, or other applicable field of study required.
  • 10+ years in economic development with a proven track record of closing complex projects. 5+ years in a team management role required. Additional private business experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute strategic plans and manage tactical execution to achieve results.
  • Recognition as a leader with the ability to develop, motivate, and build functional teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain a credible reputation and high-profile presence in the community on behalf of an organization.
  • CEcD, EDFP, MEDP, or other applicable certifications preferred.

Compensation

Base compensation of $225,000+ with a competitive benefits package included. Relocation assistance considered.
